Thanks, but no thanks on Governor Sarah Palin’s lies.
Senator John McCain, Governor Sarah Palin, and the power-hungry Republicans are in denial, yet again. This time, on the infamous “bridge to nowhere.” It seems pretty obvious that as a candidate for governor, Sarah Palin supported the bridge in Alaska, and now, as the VP candidate, she opposes it as some representative problem with Washington earmarks. No thanks Governor Palin.
One aide even sought to defend the bridge (even though I thought everyone jumped off that train a while ago). Instead of sticking to the “message” of “thanks but no thanks (and I’ll keep the money thanks again), the aide suggested that to the people in Ketchikan, the bridge to nowhere was in fact a bridge to somewhere. And because of this, of course Sarah Palin as a candidate would support the bridge.
So to help everyone weave through all the partisan rhetoric from the Obama campaign, the McCain campaign, the left-wing media, the right-wing media, the rest of the media, and rumor emails from their crazy aunt, here’s the simple and absolute truth:
Sarah Palin, as a candidate for governor did not support the bridge because it was a waste of federal taxpayer dollars. She did support the bridge while in Ketchikan, Alaska, as a candidate for governor. Now, as the Republican nominee for VP, she is no longer campaigning in Ketchikan, and again, does not support the bridge. Governor Sarah Palin did keep the money in the Alaska state budget for other items. She also bills the state government for travel time while at her family home in Alaska, and for travel and accommodations for herself and famous daughter Bristol.
Another lie in the Republican web spurred by the unvetted Sarah Palin. We have 54 days until the election. Here’s hoping the American people investigate and analyze Palin. With the right information, it shouldn’t be a tough choice. Not everyone is as reckless with our way of life and national security as the McCain campaign.
